Carticept Medical, Inc. ("Carticept") considers the privacy and security of user information an important component of the services offered at its website, (the "Site"). The following information explains how Carticept collects and uses information obtained from users in connection with services available at the Site (taken together, the "Service"). This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Carticept does not own or control, or to individuals that Carticept does not employ or manage. By visiting or using the Site or Service in any manner, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy, and you hereby consent to Carticept's collection, use, and sharing of your information as described herein.

Information Collected
At your election, you may request additional information about Carticept or its products or inquire about job opportunities at Carticept. When you do so, you may need to submit certain information or data to Carticept, for example, your contact information, information about your medical practice, or your resume (collectively, "User Data"). Also, Carticept may receive a confirmation when you open a message from Carticept. This confirmation helps Carticept make its communications with you more interesting and improve the Service.

When you visit the Site, web servers collect "traffic data" about your visit (such as, for example, time and date of your visit to the Site or the address of the website from which you entered the Site), which is stored as anonymous, aggregate data. Collecting such data may entail the use of "cookies," IP addresses or other numeric codes used to identify a computer. "Cookies" are pieces of information that a website transfers to your computer's hard disk for record-keeping purposes. Cookies in and of themselves do not personally identify users, although they do identify a user's computer. You may be able to set the preferences on your web browser to prevent or limit your computer's acceptance of cookies, but this may prevent you from taking advantage of some of the features of the Service. If you click on a link to a third party website, such third party may also transmit cookies to you. This Privacy Policy does not cover the use of cookies by any third parties.

Use of Information
Carticept uses User Data to respond to your inquiries for additional information about Carticept and/or its products. Carticept may also use your contact information to communicate with you, for example, about your use of the Site or Service. Carticept uses "traffic data" to help diagnose problems with its server, analyze trends and administer the Site. Carticept may also provide traffic data to its partners who may use such information to improve your experience using the Site or Service. Carticept never discloses traffic data to a partner in a manner that would identify you personally. Your IP address is not linked to personally identifiable information, but is used to gather broad demographic data and to monitor statistics to improve the Site and Service. IP addresses are also used to provide an audit trail in the case of any attempted illegal or unauthorized use of the Site.

Sharing of Information
Currently, Carticept will not share personally identifiable information with any third party for commercial purposes. Carticept may, however, disclose personally identifiable information if (1) reasonably necessary to perform the Service, (2) authorized by you, (3) otherwise permitted under this Privacy Policy or (4) Carticept is required to do so by law or regulation, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) conform or comply with applicable laws, regulations or legal process, (ii) protect or defend the rights or property of Carticept or any other user or (iii) enforce the Terms of Use. Carticept may transfer personally identifiable information to any successor to all or substantially all of its business or assets that concern the Service.

As a result, Carticept cannot ensure the security of any information you provide, and you do so at your own risk. Once Carticept receives your transmission, it will make reasonable efforts to ensure its security on its systems.
