Clinical Results
Clinical experience with the use of Cartiva™ implants for cartilage repair has been generally positive. Since 2002, several thousand devices have been implanted in a variety of joints including the knee, metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint, carpometacarpal joint, shoulder and talus.
The initial experience indicates that Cartiva SCI provides restoration of the joint surface with the desired relief of pain and return to function when implanted in appropriately selected patients with good surgical technique.
The clinical experience in the knee joint and in the MTP joint has been reported/published, and the most recent data is summarized below.
